14th Executive Committee President’s Message

Dear members of Psychology Society,

A very warm greeting to all of you! Firstly, let me thank the 13th Executive Committee for the effort and dedication that they have put in over the past year to the Society. They have made tremendous contributions by looking out for our welfare and planning exciting events for all of us. We greatly appreciate the things that they have done, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours!

In this academic year, the 14th Executive Committee would like to continue building on the work of our predecessors to prioritise member engagement. We hope to do this by increasing the number of opportunities for members to bond with one another and to meet the members of the Executive Committee. Through these sessions, we hope to foster a greater sense of belonging within the Society by increasing interaction between members of different years. Our interaction with you would also allow us to better understand your interests and concerns, which would help us better plan programs that would benefit you.

Please allow me to introduce the 14th Executive Committee:

Mr Brendon Soh San Yong (President)

Mr Wong Jin Nen (Vice-President)

Ms Ow Jing Teng (Honorary General Secretary)

Mr Khoo Jingren Forster (Assistant Honorary General Secretary)

Ms Stacey Woo Wen Xin (Honorary Treasurer)

Mr Tan Wee Han (Director of Academics)

Mr Ho Ka Yip, Kenneth (Director of Marketing)

Ms Ying Chenfei (Director of Welfare)

My team is committed to the following:

  1. To continue serving as a bridge between all members, the Psychology Department and our external partners;
  2. To increase the number of member bonding and engagement sessions;
  3. To continue organising programs catered to your needs and interests.

Do look out for our ongoing programs such as trips to IMH, SAAC and Prison visits. We also plan to invite our alumni and distinguished speakers for our Alumni conversations and Career Sharing Sessions. In addition, we will be having our Psychology Appreciation Week later this year where we will be distributing welfare packs and holding various activities. There are many more events to come, do look out for them in our email blasts, social media and Telegram group!

As we seek to do more to bring this community to greater heights, we would appreciate any thoughts and feedback. Do approach any members of the Executive Committee with any views or concerns and we will do our best to assist you! Alternatively, you may write in to us at nuspsyche@gmail.com and we will reply at the earliest opportunity.

If you have friends who are interested in psychology or majoring in psychology but have yet to join our Society, do encourage them to join! For a fee of $5, our members have membership lasting for a lifetime, priority to our events, eligibility for our welfare packs and more! The sign-up form can be found at tinyurl.com/psychsocreg.

 We thank you for all the support you have given us over the years, and we hope to receive your feedback as we push for more initiatives. Finally, we wish you all the best in your studies, work, and any interests you are pursuing. We look forward to seeing you at our events!

 Best regards,

 Brendon SOH San Yong (Mr)
