Psychology Talks 2011

We had our annual Psychology Talks from 24 to 28 January 2011. This year, we managed to invite speakers from organizations such as the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and National University Hospital (NUH). A private practitioner, Mr Benjamin Ho, as well as our own Senior Lecturer from NUS, Dr Gregor Lange, also shared with us their experiences.

The psychologists shared with us their working experiences, as well as the qualifications required to work as a counselling, clinical or forensic psychologist

. They also told us about the various challenges that they encountered in their work and how they went on to overcome these challenges. Most importantly of all, they offered advice on post-graduate studies such as the universities recommended for particular degrees.

Responses from our student population this year had been very good. Psychology Society is very glad and thankful for all of your support, and hopes that the talks have benefited you by providing you with an avenue to find out more about future career prospects and post-graduate studies in Psychology. We will also take your feedback into consideration.

We will be uploading the transcripts from the talks very soon, for those of you who were unable to attend the talks due to other academic commitments. We are still currently waiting for approval from the speakers who are also busy with their own work. Your patience is greatly appreciated and do check out our blog again for updates 🙂
P.S. Three cheers for NUSPsyche’s executive committee and everyone who made a difference in one way or another! 😀
Regards,
NUSPsyche
